K-Pop is spreading like wildfire around the world and there are several reasons why. First, the music videos. Everyone has seen Psy’s Gangnam Style by now and if you haven’t, then you must not know that it’s the most viewed video on YouTube with over two billion views. That’s a record kept by a Korean pop musician. K-Pop music videos can be cool, crazy, or cute — better yet, all three. A lot of budgeting goes into their music videos because they want those high number of views and to achieve that goal, they express their songs in the most flashy way possible. Even if it’s a slow, ballad song, the music video will have a set that looks like it costs more than a year’s worth of college tuition. It’s all about the visuals.
From dark and mysterious boys to dystopian societies, the young adult genre has been dominating the shelves — and theaters — for many years now. Twilight, The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones — these series became bestsellers and were worthy enough to make it to the big screen. However, just because these young adult series garnered a lot of attention based on the fact that they became a film adaption, there are a lot of other notable young adult series that may not have made an appearance as a movie, but there is a possibility that they will in the future.
For this list, it will be comprised of young adult series, more specifically the fantasy/supernatural sub-genre, that have not been turned into a film adaption or have not had any movie rights placed on them. As a reminder, this list serves to point out the highlights or unique qualities of these series that make them stand out among the rest. There may be disagreements and there are other series that have been left out, but what this list hopes to achieve is for you to start any one of these series and put it on your own “Best Fantasy/Supernatural Young Adult” series list.
NOTE: These are listed in no particular order. Also, there may be minor spoilers so proceed at your own discretion.
Sometimes ending a story isn’t always what we want. Characters grow on us, and we don’t want to see them go. However, it’s best for some stories to come to an end when it’s appropriate; milking the story out can often times make us lose interest. In terms of shoujo manga, or all types of manga, the “Completed” status can be a dreadful sight but it can also be a satisfactory one. This status is labeled on most shoujo manga rather than shounen, which are known to have hundreds of chapters and could still be ongoing as we speak. You’ve stuck with the manga from beginning to end and that in itself shows how the manga accomplished retaining its loyal readers. So, are you ready to commit to a new series? For this compiled list, it will consist of shoujo manga with a focus on school life that have been released (translation-wise) in 2015.
Have you ever watched an anime and discovered that the side character was more appealing than the main character? These “hidden gemstones” tend to distract our attention from the main character and sometimes it can’t be helped: they make you drool all over your keyboard and you find a guilty pleasure in getting strangely attracted to someone who doesn’t exist in real life. No matter, it’s a guilty pleasure you don’t have to admit as there are many others who find anime guys attractive.
*Please note that this list does not serve to speak for everyone’s opinions on hot anime guys and was created by the author solely for entertainment purposes*

Midterms, finals, repeat — this is the endless cycle most college students go through during their undergraduate studies and studying has never gotten more intense. Many people have different ways of studying whether that’s in silence or with subtle music playing in the background. There are also people who don’t even listen to music subtly while studying, but blast it full volume so that they can block out other unnecessary and distracting noises. If it comes to playing music while you study, which can range from classical music to ambient sounds, listening to these can either make you fall asleep as you study or feel completely unmotivated, which leads to procrastination. So what’s a solution to this lack of wanting to study? Two words: epic music.

Everybody has 24 hours but it’s how those hours are used that can bring one to success. Success will not come out of your countless hours of watching Netflix or the thousands of minutes you have spent looking at funny pictures on the Internet. Nothing will come out of these things because success needs to build upon something, anything. As Tony Robbins said, “Progress is optional,” “but you have to take action to get it” (Jack Canfield).
For those of you who are stuck on how to break out of this limbo, who don’t have any particular goals or aspirations, and are lost on what to do with their lives, here are some really easy suggestions on where to begin your journey.
